Permitted Activities

With this visa, you may engage in the following activities for tourism and recreation purposes, including:

  • Visiting or meeting friends or relatives
  • Participating in short-term yoga programs
  • Attending short-term courses in local languages, music, dance, arts & crafts, cooking, medicine, and similar subjects
    (non-formal and non-structured programs, not exceeding six months, and not leading to any certificate/diploma)
  • Performing short-term voluntary work (maximum one month, without any monetary payment or consideration)

 e-Visa is not permitted for employment, NGO activities, or journalism.

 

Document Requirement

Applicants must present the following documents to the immigration officer upon arrival:
a. Passport valid for at least six (6) months
b. Digital passport photograph with a white background

 

Processing Time

The e-Visa application may take up to 72 hours to be processed.

  1. Applicants may enter India through 31 designated airports and 6 designated seaports listed: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa (Dabolim), Goa (Mopa), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kannur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Portblair, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi, Vishakhapatnam and 6 designated seaports: Chennai, Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, and Port Blair.

    Departure is allowed from any authorized immigration check post.
    Arrival at Port Blair Airport requires a Restricted / Protected Area Permit.

  2. The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) does not guarantee entry into India. Entry may be refused upon arrival.
